Deputy Orders

The Court of Protection deals with decision making for adults who the lack mental capacity to make decisions themselves. This will include vulnerable adults with learning difficulties, mental health problems and elderly people suffering from dementia or Alzheimer's. Where the person has not made a Lasting Power of Attorney, application can be made to the Court of Protection for a Deputy Order to deal with the person's property and financial affairs.

In the event emergency access is needed to the vulnerable person's bank account, Y Bacchus & Co can assist with the application for an Interim Order pending the decision of the final order. Deputy Orders relating to personal welfare may be granted in rare cases.
